There won’t be a dry eye in the house next week as Coronation Street is lining up “dramatic” and “heartbreaking” scenes.
A fan favourite is bowing out of the show in emotional scenes, and it’s safe to say it will impact several people on the cobbles. Truths come to light and big decisions are made, with it said “devastation” will follow in the aftermath.
Charlotte Jordan will bow out as her character Daisy Midgeley in huge scenes next week, described as being “dramatic and emotionally charged”. With her future decided, the character will leave the street behind after almost five years.
But she doesn’t go quietly it seems, as much as she hopes to after a dark betrayal looks set to be rumbled. The Mirror’s soap insider has teased what fans can expect from the huge episodes ahead, promising “drama and chaos” as well as “sad” moments as the end arrives for Daisy.
Charlotte announced earlier this year that she was quitting the role and recently opened up on why she was leaving the show behind. A new trailer also teased some of her final scenes, as she has second thoughts about her revenge against stepmother Jenny Connor over the money Jenny kept hidden from her.
Daisy teamed up with her scheming mother Christina to destroy Jenny and steal the £60,000. It seems Daisy is concerned about their plan though, and Christina sparks suspicions over her real intentions following the arrival of Dom.
So will Daisy do the right thing or will it all be too late for Jenny? Can Jenny find it in her heart to forgive Daisy too as she’s set to learn the truth, ahead of Daisy fleeing the cobbles for good?
Our soap source teased: “There’s some highly emotional moments ahead. Daisy isn’t just leaving her home behind, but also her family and her life with Daniel Osbourne.
“There’s some really moving scenes between Daisy and Daniel that will be crucial to her decision over her future. Daisy’s exit from the cobbles is going to have a huge impact on those she leaves behind.
“Daniel is desperate for her to stay, not wanting to lose her. If viewers are after emotional and heartbreaking scenes they will certainly get that and more with Daisy’s final episodes on the show.”
Spoilers have revealed that Daisy grows suspicious of her mother Christina amid their secret plan to fleece Jenny, with Dom still leading Jenny on. Jenny soon admits all about the money she inherited from some shares Daisy’s dad had bought in her name and reveals her plans to invest in Dom’s company.
But Christina’s odd behaviour begins to spark suspicion with both Daisy and her partner Daniel. Soon Daisy overhears a telling conversation between Dom and Christina, after Jenny transfers the money – and soon there’s a discovery that leaves one resident in a state of panic.
Soon there’s “explosive” scenes and Jenny is begging Daisy not to leave. Daisy speaks with her exes Ryan Connor and Kit Green, as well as current flame Daniel – while she’s keen to escape the cobbles.
