Welcome to the Mirror’s Daily Digest, where we’ll be pulling together all the best stories of the day from our News, Showbiz, Sport teams and more. This Friday we’re featuring everything from Putin naming his 21 most-hated Brits to a well-known British supermarket being forced to cancel all online orders.

Our Royal team brings you the news of a regal couple set ‘to divorce’ after just two years of marriage, while our news reporters lift the lid on a startling revelation that blows open the mystery of BBC presenter Jill Dando’s unsolved murder. Finally, our showbiz reporters share the story of a Capital DJ’s life-changing diagnosis.

Our politics team writes the Kremlin has accused the UK of being “hysterical” while posting a list of the country’s most-hated Brits. Vladimir Putin has issued a new “stop list” of 21 British politicians, with Russian officials saying it is an attempt to stop efforts to “demonise our country”.

This comes after the UK imposed a list of economic sanctions and bans against several Russian oligarchs and diplomats since its terror invasion of Ukraine started in 2022. In a remarkable twist in a long-running story, a former spymaster has admitted that one of his commandos carried out an attack abroad at around the time Jill Dando was killed.

Dragan Filipović was a leading member the Serbian security services when he masterminded a “secret reprisal action” in the spring of 1999 that caused “great confusion in Europe”. At the time, Milorad Ulemek, then 31, led the unit Filipović used to target opponents of brutal Serb dictator Slobadan Milosevic. The Yugoslav war was raging and UK planes were bombing Serbia when Jill was shot dead on her doorstep on April 26, 1999. Within hours of her murder, the BBC took a call claiming the death was in response.

Finally, radio presenter Zofia Rogers has shared her life-changing diagnosis, as she admitted that she delayed a consultant appointment to attend a lash appointment. The Capital FM host said she had been convinced there was “nothing wrong”.

Zofia, 24 – who’s a DJ on Capital Dance – announced this week that she has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) after “months of appointments”. She shared the health update on Instagram yesterday and has said that “losing control” of her bladder has been her primary symptom of the condition.
