Must read

A Coronation Street cast member has announced that they have filmed their final scenes for the soap opera. Scott Anson has confirmed that he is leaving the show.

Scott plays Reece Bolton on the ITV and first appeared in 2022. He’s since appeared in more than 30 episodes. The actor announced earlier this week that his “very last” episode was airing on Wednesday night.

The character Reece was introduced three years ago as a member of a far-right extremist gang led by Griff Reynolds (played by Michael Condron). The group were grooming Reece’s daughter Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) and Max Turner (Paddy Bever).

Reece later ended up in prison and has appeared on occasion in more recent years. Lauren and Max visited him together last year, and he later returned again for the storyline involving his daughter’s disappearance. He’s since returned this year.

Sharing another account’s post about his return, which included photos from a scene, Scott wrote in a post on Instagram this week: “Catch my very last ep as Reece Bolton.”

Scott teased that he would be reprising his role earlier this year. The actor shared a photo of himself in a dressing room on February 14, with him teasing in a caption over the selfie at the time: “I just love being bad.”

The photo showed Scott taking a photo in a mirror whilst sat at a desk. A mug with ITV’s logo was seen on the table alongside other items included a script.

Then, last month,he shared a photo that gave a glimpse of the blue jumper, grey trousers and yellow vest sported by his character in prison. A tag on them was labelled “Reece”. Scott wrote in the caption on March 14: “Coming soon.”
