A fire that occurred on Wednesday night in Windsor resulted in an estimated $750,000 worth of damage, as reported by the city’s fire department. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported during the incident. The fire started at approximately 6:30 p.m. ET at a residence located on the corner of Victoria Avenue and Montrose Street in Windsor, Ontario.

Authorities anticipate an investigator will visit the site on Thursday to determine the origin and cause of the fire. Upon arrival, responding fire crews encountered dense smoke within the premises. Despite facing zero visibility in the basement and first floor, firefighters managed to enter the home. However, the blaze was spreading rapidly, prompting a shift to a defensive approach where water was directed onto the structure from outside. At one point, more than 30 firefighters, as well as police and EMS personnel, were present at the scene.

Simultaneously, emergency responders were called to another fire at a residence on Ellis Street, located approximately two blocks away from the initial incident. The second fire was attributed to careless cooking.
