Actor Mike Smith, known for portraying Bubbles on the popular show “Trailer Park Boys,” is facing allegations of sexual assault. Court documents from Nova Scotia reveal that Smith was charged on Oct. 2 in Halifax for an incident that reportedly took place on Dec. 30, 2017, in Dartmouth, N.S. The veracity of the claims has yet to be determined in court.

A publication ban shields the identity of the alleged victim, who Smith has been instructed not to contact or approach at their school, workplace, or residence. In response to the situation, Trailer Park Boys Inc. announced Smith’s decision to step down from his position as the company’s managing director. The company emphasized its commitment to respecting the legal process concerning the allegation.

Efforts to reach out to Smith’s representatives and legal team for comments have so far been unsuccessful. Alongside his co-stars Robb Wells and John Paul Tremblay, Smith has gained international recognition over the years through the enduring success of “Trailer Park Boys.” The series, which premiered in 2001 and has garnered a dedicated global fanbase, is available on various platforms including Netflix and Crave, as well as the show’s private streaming service.

In 2013, the trio acquired the rights to the franchise. Despite the current legal issues, the company recently wrapped up filming for Season 13 of the TV series, set to be released in 2026. Notably, in 2016, Smith was arrested in Los Angeles on charges of domestic battery, which were later dropped due to insufficient evidence, following a dispute at a Hollywood hotel.

Smith is scheduled to appear in court in Halifax next week. The ongoing focus of Trailer Park Boys Inc. remains on delivering the anticipated 13th season to their loyal audience.
