Five individuals have been accused by the police of planning to murder the son of a couple from Dieppe who were discovered deceased in their residence six years ago. The Moncton provincial court recently pressed charges of conspiracy to commit murder against Janson Bryan Baker, Jesse Todd Logue, Monique Alicia Boyer, Nicholas Daniel Bain, and Christopher Allen Lennon. The accusations suggest that the group conspired to kill Sylvio Saulnier both before and after the deaths of his elderly parents, Bernard Saulnier, 78, and Rose-Marie Saulnier, 74, who were found deceased in their Amirault Street home in Dieppe on September 7, 2019.
The charges were a result of a police investigation into the deaths of Bernard and Rose-Marie Saulnier. Baker, aged 29, had previously been charged in 2023 with two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly killing the elderly couple. His trial is set to commence in January and is anticipated to last for three months. Brian Munro, Baker’s legal representative, did not provide an immediate response to the recent developments.
According to a news release by the RCMP, the new charges were part of an ongoing inquiry following the 2019 deaths in Dieppe. The police emphasized their dedication to pursuing justice for the victims and their family, stating that the investigation has been intricate and exhaustive. Sylvio Saulnier passed away in 2023, as confirmed by the authorities, clarifying that his death was deemed unrelated to the alleged plot and did not involve any criminal activity.
The five accused individuals are expected to make their court appearance in Moncton on December 1.
