Adele ‘s forthcoming album will not be dropping this year, despite her promising fans it will be out in September.
The Hello hitmaker, 31, had fans excited as she was set to drop her first release since her album ’25’ five years ago – but now they are being made to wait even longer.
Founder and CEO of September Management Jonathan Dickins – who manages Adele – has revealed that her album is not ready to be released on time.
Speaking to Music Week, Jonathan explained: “It [the album] isn’t coming in September, it’ll be ready when it’s ready.
“We’re all in the same boat, you’re doing stuff and then all of a sudden, the world stops.”
He added: “It’ll come when it’s ready. I can’t put a date on that yet. We have music, but we’re still working.”
Mirror Online has contacted Adele’s reps for comment.
The mum-of-one hasn’t revealed the name of the album as of yet, but her previous albums have correlated to the age she released them.
Unlike her previous records – 19, 21 and 25 – this one probably won’t be titled after her age at the time she wrote them.
In 2016, the singer said of her record 25: “This is the last album after my age. I believe in trilogies, yeah. The next one is just gonna be ‘Adele’.”
The new album follows a difficult year for the star, during which she filed for divorce from her husband Simon Konecki after five years together.
The pair share eight-year-old son Angelo.
Their split is said to be due to them moving “in different directions and to different continents”, with Adele preferring the US, while Simon likes living in the UK.
Songs are set to dive deep into her emotions as a contrast to the singer’s personal life which is very much private.
