Dennis Haskins, famous for his role as principal Richard Belding on the popular TV show “Saved by the Bell,” has passed away at the age of 75, as confirmed by his agent Jay Schachter. Schachter expressed deep sadness over the loss, highlighting Haskins’ love for his fans and his amicable personality.
Haskins gained fame portraying the beloved principal of Bayside High, known for his iconic catchphrase, “Hey, hey, hey, what is going on here?” His portrayal of Mr. Belding began on Disney Channel’s “Good Morning, Miss Bliss” before transitioning to the revamped “Saved by the Bell” series from 1989 to 1993.
In addition to his role in the original series, Haskins reprised his character in “Saved by the Bell: The New Class” and made a memorable appearance with former co-stars on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in 2015. His co-stars, including Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez, and Tiffani Thiessen, have shared heartfelt tributes on social media, reminiscing about their time working with him.
Lark Voorhies, who played Lisa Turtle alongside Haskins, expressed her deep sorrow at the loss, emphasizing the close bond they shared over nearly four decades.
