Benjamin Satterley, a prominent English professional wrestler and key figure in the U.S.-based All Elite Wrestling (AEW), has passed away at the age of 40. AEW confirmed the news of Satterley’s death, known by his ring name Pac, through their social media platforms on Sunday evening.

The exact cause of his death has not been disclosed. Just the night before, he was seen wrestling on television, facing off against Andrade el Idolo in Chicago.

Satterley, hailing from Newcastle, England, kickstarted his wrestling journey in 2004 in the U.K. Over the years, he made a name for himself in various independent wrestling circuits globally, showcasing a blend of acrobatic skills and a muscular physique that resonated with fans.

Prior to his time at AEW, Satterley competed in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) from 2012 to 2018 under the name Adrian Neville. Transitioning to AEW in 2019, he engaged in matches with top talents and secured multiple championships, including the inaugural international title.

Famous for his finishing move, the black arrow, a gravity-defying dive from the top rope onto his opponents, Satterley was often recognized as “The man that gravity forgot.” He was predominantly portrayed as a villain in the ring, adopting the persona of “The Bastard.”

Despite keeping a low profile outside the wrestling realm, tributes poured in from colleagues and peers following his sudden demise. AEW CEO Tony Khan hailed Satterley’s excellence and dedication to the sport, while fellow wrestler Josh Alexander praised his work ethic and kindness.

Satterley’s passing marks the second loss of an AEW wrestler within weeks, following the recent death of Andy Williams, also known as The Butcher. Williams, who collapsed during a wrestling event in Pittsburgh, was not only a wrestler but also a guitarist for the band Every Time I Die.

In a rare social media post, Satterley shared a photo with Williams, emphasizing their camaraderie in the wrestling world.
