Last week, Tim Bowman and Leah Fried unexpectedly tied the knot in Nelson, British Columbia. The couple had initially planned to get married during their winter stay in B.C. As they house-sat in Nelson, they consulted their astrologer for the best wedding date. To their surprise, the astrologer advised them to wed the following day, setting the date for Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 2:34 p.m.
With little time to spare, Bowman quickly contacted officiants in Nelson, receiving enthusiastic responses. They chose Cottonwood Falls Park as the venue, seeking witnesses through a local Facebook group post. The community responded overwhelmingly, offering to photograph, provide music, and serve as witnesses.
The impromptu ceremony at Cottonwood Falls Park was a heartwarming display of community support. The couple exchanged rings made of willow branches, with plans for more traditional rings in the future. Bowman expressed his joy and gratitude for the unique experience, while Fried described the event as a “miracle.” They thanked the Nelson community for their kindness and solidarity, looking forward to returning to the area in the future.
