Kimmirut RCMP recently apprehended an individual for firing shots at a dwelling within the community. According to an official statement released by the RCMP on Friday, they responded to several reports of gunshots in the area on November 22. Subsequently, the suspect was taken into custody, revealing that the gunfire was directed at a residential property. The individual faces charges related to possessing a weapon with intent to commit a crime and for negligently discharging a firearm.

This incident marks the third round of legal actions initiated by the RCMP in the community, which has a population of approximately 426 residents. Earlier in the week, Kimmirut RCMP publicized a separate case involving a man charged with aggravated assault on Friday morning. Additionally, on Wednesday, law enforcement announced charges against another individual, encompassing a variety of offenses, notably including attempted murder.
