Fondly remembered as kind and joyful individuals, the three teenagers tragically lost their lives in a car accident on November 11 near Hanover, Ontario. A fourth teen, who remains unidentified, is currently hospitalized in London with severe injuries. The group of students from John Diefenbaker Senior School had been out for a drive after attending a Remembrance Day event when the single-vehicle crash occurred on Concession Road 2 near Allan Park Road at noon ET.
This devastating incident follows a similar tragedy six months prior when four high school students and a teacher lost their lives in a crash in Walkerton, Ontario. The community is mourning the loss of these young lives once again.
The three teenagers who perished in the Hanover crash were Tyson Varley, 16, Damon Davis, 17, and Haley Keffer, 16. Each had unique qualities and aspirations that endeared them to those who knew them well.
Tyson Varley, a car enthusiast with a passion for small-engine mechanics, was known for his mechanical skills and love for outdoor activities. Damon Davis, a dedicated volunteer at a local care facility, was described as having a big heart and a love for fixing things. Haley Keffer, remembered for her vibrant personality and love for mismatched socks, brought joy to those around her with her infectious laughter.
The families and friends of these young individuals are left to grieve their untimely loss and remember the cherished memories they shared. Plans for memorial services and celebrations of life are underway to honor their lives and legacies.
