Coquitlam Search and Rescue (SAR) is set to restart the search for a missing man on Burke Mountain in Coquitlam, B.C. The search for 65-year-old To Sang Alfred Wong began last Wednesday, involving the use of a helicopter, drone, and tracker dog, but unfortunately yielded no results. Despite extensive efforts, no trace of Wong was found, as confirmed by Coquitlam SAR search manager Ian MacDonald.
Initially, the search was called off on Sunday at 5 p.m. PT, but MacDonald later informed a CBC News reporter that the search operation would recommence on Tuesday morning to locate Wong. Wong was last seen in his grey Chevrolet Cruz near Apel Drive and Coast Meridian Road on Tuesday, Nov. 4, according to an RCMP statement issued last week.
His vehicle was discovered by the police on Nov. 5 at the Coquitlam Lake Trail trailhead on Harper Road. Wong is described as an Asian male, standing at five feet three inches tall, with a slim build and balding grey hair. Coquitlam SAR initiated the search last Wednesday utilizing various resources, including a helicopter, drone, and tracker dog.
Coquitlam SAR search manager Stu Fleming mentioned to CBC News that the search involved 49 team members, including support from seven other teams. CBC News has contacted the RCMP for a statement regarding the decision to resume the search operation.
