Peel police revealed that the second victim in a collision caused by a young driver in Brampton on Saturday was not discovered until many hours after the incident. The crash took place at Chinguacousy Road and Queen Street W. at around 4:20 a.m., with the shocking finding of the second body not occurring until approximately 5:30 p.m., more than 12 hours later, as the vehicles had already been taken to the police impound yard.

Const. Tyler Bell-Morena described the scene as “gruesome” and stated that he had to personally inspect the vehicle before providing details at a news briefing. The collision involved a Blue Audi colliding with a Black Honda Civic, followed by another impact with a pole, causing both vehicles to veer off the road. While three individuals from the Audi sustained minor injuries, a 31-year-old man was found deceased in the Black Honda Civic and had to be extricated from the vehicle.

It was revealed that the driver and passenger in the Black Honda Civic were not acquainted, as the passenger had booked a rideshare after a social gathering. Peel police Const. Amanda Steenson mentioned that initially, there was no immediate indication of a passenger when the driver was removed from the vehicle. However, after the vehicles were brought to the impound yard, reports emerged of a missing 20-year-old woman whose location was traced to the crash site through a tracking app.

Subsequent investigations at the crash scene and impound yard led to the discovery of the woman’s remains embedded in the wrecked Honda Civic. Brampton fire and emergency responders were called in to assist in extracting the body using specialized equipment. Steenson emphasized the need for privacy for the grieving families affected by the tragedy.

Family and friends reported the woman missing separately, raising concerns about the sequence of events leading to the tragic outcome. The youth driver of the second vehicle, a 17-year-old, faced charges of dangerous driving causing death and failure to comply with demand. The Major Collision Bureau has assumed control of the ongoing investigation.
