Warning – this article contains major spoilers for The White Lotus’ season 3 finale
Fans of The White Lotus were stunned by the dramatic series three finale that saw a number of popular characters killed off. But while some were still coming to terms with the heart-wrenching scenes, others think they have unearthed a secret feud between two characters.
Main stars of the show Aimee Lou Wood, 31, and Walton Goggins, 53, played couple Chelsea and Rick in season three of the drama. However, while their chemistry shone through in front of the camera, off-air they are rumoured to be on bad terms.
It’s led viewers to turn into internet sleuths to try to decipher if there really is bad blood between the pair. One reason they came up with the hint at the alleged feud is the duo don’t follow each other on Instagram. However, Aimee is following her co-star’s eyeglass page, Goggle Glasses.
Taking to Reddit, TikTok and Twitter/X, fans have been sharing their own theories regarding the pair, questioning any potential fallout.
One Reddit user wrote: “I feel like no one is talking about the falling out of them?” They added the pair used to be pals on Instagram until recently.
The fan went on: “‘They unfollowed each other on insta a couple weeks ago, walton posts white lotus stuff and tags everyone in the photos except aimee lou wood, posts a whole tribute to white lotus and still doesn’t tag her, posts tons of pictures of her on his story in a commemorative tribute to the show. what happened?
“They used to idolize each other and talk about each other in such positive light in interviews and such, it’s so weird that all of a sudden there’s this switch up?”
Taking to X, another also noticed Aimee’s lack of mention on Walton’s uploads. The viewer said of the behind-the-scenes snaos: “Walton Goggins not tagging Aimee but tagging everyone else… WHAT HAPPENED.”
The apparent shun comes not long after Walton had shared a sweet post regarding his co-star. He uploaded 18 images at the time.
Following the weekend’s finale, some fans were left fuming at the ending. In this year’s instalment, a daring revenge plot unfolded as Rick Hatchett (portrayed by Walton Goggins) travelled to the White Lotus resort in Thailand with his girlfriend, Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood).
However, unbeknownst to her, he was secretly planning a trip to Bangkok to meet his friend Frank (Sam Rockwell) and confront the man who allegedly murdered his father, Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn).
Things spiralled out of control, leading to fatalities. But the episode left viewers scratching their heads over Rick’s decision to return to the resort. They questioned his decision, given the likelihood of encountering Sritala and Jim.
One user on social media wrote of the scene: “Yeah let’s go back to the hotel owned by the guy I just pushed over in his home,” while another added with disbelief: “THIS! That made no sense to me. Uh, time to checkout!”
A third viewer expressed: “Truly bizarre. What gave him that confidence? He knows Hollinger has hella guards.”
