In Newfoundland and Labrador, many schools closed due to a snow day, as winter storm warnings persisted. The RCMP advised drivers to be cautious on deteriorating roads and to have emergency supplies. Despite the weather causing multiple accidents, none resulted in severe injuries. Notably, a transport truck blocked lanes on the Trans-Canada Highway near Glovertown. Newfoundland Power reported sporadic power outages affecting its customers. Various institutions, including schools, Memorial University, the Marine Institute, and government offices in St. John’s, shut down for the day.

In Conception Bay South, St. John’s, Paradise, and Mount Pearl, garbage collection was delayed. Environment Canada issued a yellow warning for the Avalon and Burin peninsulas, expecting 15 to 24 centimeters of snow by Wednesday evening. While rain fell in southern areas, wind and snow warnings persisted but were anticipated to cease by the evening.

Throughout the evening, the eastern Avalon faced wind warnings with gusts up to 80-100 km/h. Clarenville, Terra Nova, and the Connaigre Peninsula were under an orange winter storm warning, predicting an additional 10 centimeters of snow with gusts reaching 80-100 km/h. CBC meteorologist Ashley Brauweiler projected heavy snow and strong winds intensifying before tapering off later in the evening.
