The Ottawa Redblacks have announced the appointment of a new head coach and general manager. Ryan Dinwiddie, who led the Toronto Argonauts to two Grey Cup championships during his five-year tenure, will now lead the team, taking over coaching responsibilities from Bob Dyce. Dyce was relieved of his duties following Ottawa’s 4-14 record this season, resulting in them missing the CFL playoffs.

In addition to coaching, Dinwiddie will also serve as the general manager, a role previously held by Shawn Burke. Burke, who assumed the GM position in December 2021, has been promoted to the vice-president of football operations within the organization.

Dinwiddie’s move to Ottawa from Toronto represents a promotion within the coaching ranks. The Redblacks have struggled to secure a playoff spot in recent years, missing the CFL playoffs in five of the last six seasons since their defeat to the Calgary Stampeders in the 2018 Grey Cup.
