She observed 10 drones and three Black Hawk helicopters in Chicago’s South Shore area, dropping armed individuals on nearby rooftops. Watson witnessed agents emerging from unmarked vehicles and rental vans, causing a commotion that led people to believe in UFO sightings. Watson, who live-streamed the incident, clarified that the activity was not an alien invasion but a federal immigration raid involving numerous agents.
During the raid, Eleanor McMullen-Webster was taken into custody. McMullen-Webster recounted a harrowing experience of federal agents pointing guns at her and her husband, leading them into an apartment where Venezuelan migrants were being held.
The operation in the South Shore apartment complex was part of a broader initiative by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) known as Operation Midway Blitz. The mission aimed to apprehend criminal illegal aliens in Illinois due to the state’s sanctuary policies. That night, authorities arrested 37 immigrants, predominantly Venezuelans, although no charges were filed against them.
According to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), two detainees were linked to Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan criminal group designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government. One of the individuals denied any association with the group in an interview with ProPublica.
