Brandon Nakashima, a 28th seed from the United States, has secured a spot in the men’s singles final of the National Bank Open by defeating Rafael Jodar in the semifinals with a score of 7-6 (3), 6-4. Nakashima expressed his satisfaction with his performance, highlighting his hard work leading up to this moment. He will now face defending champion Ben Shelton in an all-American final on Thursday.

During the match, Nakashima showcased his dominance, particularly on his serves, winning 68% of his first-service points and landing 85% of his first serves in play. Jodar, a 19-year-old rising star and the 20th seed, struggled to keep up with Nakashima’s aggressive play, ultimately losing the match after two hours and two minutes of gameplay.

Despite his loss, Jodar’s impressive run in recent tournaments has caught the attention of many, with Nakashima acknowledging his talent and potential in the sport. The match culminated in a tense final game where Nakashima successfully fended off several break points from Jodar before securing the win.
