A 40-year-old woman faces charges of first-degree murder following the discovery of a deceased 44-year-old woman at a residence in Kitchener on Monday afternoon. Police responded to a disturbance call at Highland Road W. and Patricia Avenue around 12:50 p.m., where they found the deceased woman. The 40-year-old woman from Kitchener was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with first-degree murder. Authorities believe that the two individuals were acquainted.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Major Crime Unit, Special Victims Unit, and Forensic Identification Unit are actively investigating the incident. Police presence in the vicinity will be heightened as officers seek witnesses and gather more details.
