DaShaun Amos and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are set to enjoy home-field advantage in the East Division final on Saturday. Hamilton Stadium has confirmed a sold-out status for the game against the Montreal Alouettes, urging fans to don black attire. Amos recognizes the importance of performing well to keep the supporters engaged and rally behind the team.

Amos emphasized the need for the team to deliver their best performance to leverage the enthusiastic crowd support. Hamilton clinched the top spot in the East with an 11-7 record, securing a home field for the conference final for the first time since 2019. The Ticats aim to end their prolonged Grey Cup drought, dating back to 1999.

Montreal, with a 10-8 record, enters the division final for the fourth consecutive year, eyeing their second Grey Cup appearance in three seasons after their 2023 victory. Amos, a three-time Grey Cup winner with previous stints at Calgary Stampeders and Toronto Argonauts, noted the exceptional atmosphere in Hamilton this season, describing it as unparalleled.

The Ticats swept the regular-season series against Montreal, but the Alouettes are favored by 2.5 points going into Saturday’s match, largely due to quarterback Davis Alexander’s impressive record. Alexander, who maintained an undefeated streak in the regular season, missed both previous encounters with Hamilton due to injury.

Hamilton’s linebacker Reggie Stubblefield, a Grey Cup winner with Montreal in 2023, emphasized the team’s focus on the upcoming game rather than external factors like betting lines. Stubblefield acknowledged the significance of the match for both the team and the fans, particularly honoring the memory of GM Ted Goveia, who passed away earlier in the year.

Receiver Tim White, a key player for the Ticats, highlighted the team’s readiness to embrace the challenge as a privilege rather than pressure. White expressed confidence in the team’s capabilities and the opportunity ahead, emphasizing the importance of seizing the moment and delivering a strong performance.
