Boyertown, Pennsylvania, has a rich baseball history. It is now also embracing the Toronto Blue Jays as one of its own, Trey Yesavage, a 22-year-old rookie pitcher, who hails from Pottstown, Pennsylvania, and played for Boyertown High School under Coach Todd Moyer.
Coach Moyer shared that he witnessed Yesavage’s growing popularity firsthand, with residents sporting Yesavage-themed apparel. Yesavage’s remarkable performance in the World Series, notably in Game 5 where he set a rookie record by striking out 12 LA Dodgers players, has endeared him to Blue Jays fans.
Reflecting on Yesavage’s journey from the minor leagues to the World Series, Coach Moyer praised his professionalism and athletic prowess. Yesavage’s parents, whom Moyer keeps in touch with, come from a sports-oriented background, contributing to their son’s success.
Recalling Yesavage’s high school career under his guidance, Coach Moyer highlighted the young pitcher’s composure and focus on the field. Despite not being able to attend Yesavage’s major league games due to personal reasons, Coach Moyer remains a steadfast supporter of his former student.
