A 27-year-old man has been taken into custody two years following the fatal shooting of Mohamed Ahmed, the brother of well-known Toronto musician and poet, Mustafa Ahmed, as confirmed by Toronto police. The incident occurred on July 25, 2023, when 36-year-old Mohamed Ahmed was discovered in a vehicle in downtown Toronto with a gunshot wound, leading to his death, according to a police statement released over the weekend. Toronto resident Yasir Mohamed, 27, has been named as one of the two suspects involved in the daytime shooting that took place in 2023. Law enforcement officers apprehended him on Friday. Mohamed is now facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder, assault with a weapon, and two counts of failing to comply with the conditions of his release. He was expected to make a court appearance on Saturday morning. The police reported that the second suspect, 34-year-old Mohammed Abdullahi from Toronto, is still at large.
