Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen expressed frustration at receiving unsolicited beauty advice. Frederiksen, aged 48, shared on Instagram that after returning from a trip to Ukraine, where she faced air raid sirens amid the ongoing conflict, she received a message from a plastic surgeon offering to alter a feature on her nose.

Over the years, Frederiksen has received numerous messages critiquing her appearance, including comments about her teeth, hair, and a perceived imperfection on her nose, along with suggestions for Botox. She posted a screenshot of the plastic surgeon’s message without revealing his identity and responded by asserting her contentment with her body and dismissing the need for a male plastic surgeon’s opinion.

As a Social Democrat serving as Denmark’s second female prime minister, Frederiksen is currently in her third term, making her one of the most experienced and longest-serving leaders in Europe. She has taken a firm stance against U.S. President Donald Trump’s interests in Greenland, a semiautonomous region of Denmark, and continues to support Ukraine amidst the conflict with Russia.

Emphasizing her indifference to others’ opinions on her appearance, Frederiksen stated on Instagram that she is comfortable with her body as she approaches 50. She urged individuals reaching out to her to engage in more meaningful conversations instead of focusing on superficial critiques like her nose.

The prime minister disclosed that the unsolicited beauty advice made her feel indignant and sent a message of support to those dealing with societal pressures to attain perfection.
