A teaser preview of the documentary “You Can See Everything” may have left viewers feeling uneasy, and the longer trailer does nothing to alleviate that discomfort. This film, crafted by Canadian filmmaker Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, captures the 34 days leading up to Elizabeth Holmes entering an 11-year imprisonment for defrauding investors at Theranos.

Fielder and the film crew openly express doubt, probing Holmes with tough questions as she maintains her innocence and sheds a tear during the interview. A24, the production company, describes the documentary as evolving from a character study into a complex exploration over three years.

The extended trailer also delves into Holmes’s relationship with her husband, Billy Evans, who hails from a family of successful hoteliers. Their union began as Theranos faced collapse in 2017. Holmes had previously achieved the title of the youngest self-made female billionaire in the U.S. in 2014, with claims of revolutionary blood-testing technology. However, federal charges were brought against her the following year.

In the documentary, Fielder, renowned for his satirical show “Nathan for You,” questions Evans about his connection with Holmes and expresses concerns about potential deception. Despite this, Evans stands by his trust in Holmes, emphasizing his lack of suspicion towards her.

The couple welcomed their first child in August 2021, shortly before Holmes’ conviction for fraud. Following her sentencing, Holmes announced her second pregnancy. The documentary is set to hit theaters on October 16.
