As a safety measure due to potential coastal erosion risks, natural gas services in the vicinity were temporarily halted. The sinkhole, spanning 7.5 to nine meters in depth and 18 meters in width, extended into the street, prompting local authorities to declare an emergency and evacuate 31 properties in the area.
The property, sold in 2024, was confirmed to have been purchased by Cage. However, his representatives did not provide immediate comments following the incident. The mansion endured damage during a coastal flooding advisory in the Los Angeles area caused by the remnants of Hurricane Marie. Despite the storm not making landfall, it brought heavy rain and hazardous waves along the Southern California coast during the recent holiday weekend.
