Noel Clarke, recognized for his portrayal in the science-fiction series “Doctor Who,” has been formally accused of six sexual offenses, which include two charges of sexual assault, as disclosed by England and Wales’ Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Wednesday. The British performer and filmmaker, aged 50, gained prominence after his depiction of Mickey Smith on the BBC program from 2005 to 2010. Clarke is also facing allegations of one count of exposure and three counts of voyeurism. In legal terms, voyeurism denotes the act of observing or recording another person engaging in a private activity without their consent, usually for sexual satisfaction.

The CPS revealed that the purported offenses involving Clarke are reported to have occurred between 2007 and 2016 and are based on complaints from five women. This development comes half a decade after a Guardian report in which 20 women accused Clarke of groping, harassment, and bullying, with specific claims of inappropriate behavior and harassment on the set of “Doctor Who,” which the actor strongly refuted.

According to The Guardian, the recent charges were filed following an inquiry that commenced in September 2025. Clarke is scheduled to make a court appearance at Westminster magistrates court on October 21. Apart from his role in “Doctor Who,” Clarke is renowned for his work as a writer and actor in the youth crime drama movies “Kidulthood” (2006), “Adulthood” (2008), and “Brotherhood” (2016), which shed light on themes like drug abuse, bullying, and violence in London’s streets. He directed “Adulthood” and helmed both the direction and production of “Brotherhood.” Clarke’s filmography also includes appearances in “Centurion” (2010), “Fast Girls” (2012), “Star Trek Into Darkness” (2013), and the television series “Bulletproof” (2018-2021).
