Hansen, 26, is thrilled to return to her hometown of Burnaby, B.C., to play for the Rise. She emphasized the significance of being close to her family and playing in front of a supportive home crowd. The signings of Swaby and Hansen come after the retirement of Mariah Lee, who decided to pursue a career in law, leaving a gap in the team.
In other news, Vancouver bid farewell to goalkeeper Kirstin Tynan, who was loaned to the Halifax Tides for the remainder of the season. The Rise, the defending champions of the NSL, are currently striving to secure a playoff spot, trailing behind Halifax by five points.
