Operations at Calgary International Airport have resumed after a brief halt earlier today due to a snowstorm affecting southern Alberta. All flight activity was paused around 9 a.m. as crews struggled with the ongoing snowfall. The suspension was lifted around 10:25 a.m., but delays are expected throughout the day due to the winter weather conditions. Travelers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest flight updates.

The snowfall led to a challenging Monday morning commute in Calgary, with 389 reported collisions, including injuries and hit-and-run incidents. Environment Canada forecasts the snow to taper off by late afternoon, with accumulations of 10 to 15 centimeters in the city.

Calgary Transit faced difficulties as around 50 buses got stuck on city roads, particularly in the northwest area. Snow detours were implemented for the morning commute, with plans to gradually equip buses with all-weather tires by 2029. Motorists are urged to stay cautious on snow-covered roads and adapt to changing weather conditions.

Southern Alberta is bracing for 10 to 20 centimeters of snow today, with areas like Lethbridge, Taber, and Fort Macleod under a snowfall warning. The snow is expected to intensify before easing off in the evening. Travelers have been experiencing delays and disruptions, reshuffling plans and adjusting to the unpredictable weather conditions.
