A 17-year-old teenager from St. Thomas, Ontario, who passed away following a recent crash is being warmly recalled by her family and the community as they prepare for a public memorial service in her honor. Hadley Denison tragically lost her life on Friday, November 17, just three days after the accident, with the police confirming her death on the same day.

According to Heather Denison, Hadley’s mother, her daughter was known for her authentic and compassionate nature, always ready to extend kindness to others. Hadley, a student at Parkside Collegiate, succumbed to her injuries in the hospital after a collision between a tractor-trailer and a sedan near Quaker Road and Southdale Line in the Municipality of Central Elgin on November 14. While the driver of the sedan sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the tractor-trailer driver emerged unharmed.

Heather Denison shared that Hadley harbored aspirations of making a difference in the lives of others, initially considering careers in detective work or teaching before opting for teaching due to her passion for helping children. The community rallied around the Denison family following the tragic incident, offering an outpouring of support through messages, prayers, and shared memories.

To commemorate Hadley’s life and provide solace to those grieving her loss, her parents have arranged a public celebration of life set to take place on November 22 at Faith Church in St. Thomas. The event will include a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by a service at 2 p.m., honoring Hadley’s vivacious and compassionate spirit.

Heather Denison expressed gratitude for the community’s overwhelming love and emphasized that the service aims to celebrate Hadley’s vibrant and unique essence, infused with music and messages of love and support. In a final act of generosity, Hadley’s family revealed that she chose to donate her organs to individuals in need, showcasing her boundless capacity for love and compassion.

While authorities have not disclosed any details regarding charges related to the collision, the police have encouraged anyone with pertinent information to come forward and assist in the investigation, either directly contacting law enforcement or providing anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
