A Canadian crime blogger, Gursewak Singh Bal, from Mississauga, Ont., is facing charges in the United States related to his alleged involvement in a criminal enterprise with fugitive Ryan Wedding. Bal, 31, was identified in a federal grand jury indictment unsealed recently by the U.S. Department of Justice and FBI in connection with Wedding’s suspected drug-smuggling network.

According to the indictment, Bal operated a news outlet called the Dirty News, which regularly featured content on crime scenes and individuals involved in criminal activities. Prosecutors claim that Bal received $10,000 to publish a photo of an FBI witness, aiding Wedding’s network in locating and potentially harming the individual.

Bal is also accused of concealing information about Wedding and his associate Andrew Clark, both linked to a substantial criminal enterprise transporting illegal drugs across North America. The Dirty News website was taken down at the request of U.S. authorities after it was revealed that Bal had accepted payments to withhold information.

The indictment further alleges that Bal posted a photo of a key witness identified as “Victim A” on social media, potentially endangering the individual’s safety. The witness, believed to be Jonathan Acebedo-Garcia, cooperated with the FBI in dismantling Wedding’s criminal network. Acebedo-Garcia was tragically shot in Colombia months after Bal’s post.

Bal and several other individuals associated with Wedding were arrested in Canada and are facing extradition to the U.S. Bal has not publicly responded to the accusations made against him. The case continues to unfold, with ongoing investigations into the activities of Wedding’s criminal enterprise.
