Blue Jays supporters faced a tough time watching the thrilling conclusion of Game 7 in the World Series, but they remained engaged in the nail-biting action of the season’s final baseball showdown on Saturday night. Rogers revealed that the broadcast of Game 7, where the Blue Jays lost 5-4 in extra innings to the Los Angeles Dodgers, garnered an average viewership of 10.9 million in Canada, making it the most-viewed Rogers broadcast to date. Throughout the Toronto-L.A. clash, a total of 7.5 million Canadian viewers tuned in across the seven games of the series, with the seven World Series broadcasts becoming the most-watched Blue Jays games ever.
The Blue Jays ultimately fell short against Los Angeles in the series, losing 4-3. Despite this, they claimed victory in Game 1, Game 4, and Game 5 of the World Series. Rogers Communications Inc. assumed full ownership of the Blue Jays in 2004 after acquiring a majority stake in the team in 2000. The company also possesses the Rogers Centre stadium, formerly known as SkyDome.
The recently concluded World Series represented Toronto’s third appearance in Major League Baseball’s annual championship. The Blue Jays had previously clinched back-to-back titles in 1992 and 1993 but faced a long hiatus from the Fall Classic until this year. On the other hand, the Dodgers secured their ninth championship victory against the Blue Jays, solidifying their status as repeat winners after their 2024 triumph. The Dodgers had also claimed victory in the shortened 2020 season due to COVID-19.
The Dodgers celebrated their 2025 World Series triumph with a parade in Los Angeles, reaffirming their dominance in the baseball arena.
