During Game 6’s ninth inning, Toronto faced a setback when Addison Barger’s hit became stuck under the wall, resulting in a ground-rule double and ultimately ending the game with Barger being picked off at second base. This unfortunate turn of events dampened the Halloween spirits, leading to further disappointments in Game 7.

Despite Bo Bichette’s impressive three-run homer in Game 7, Toronto found themselves just one run ahead in the eighth inning. The Dodgers managed to tie the game in the ninth inning, prolonging the match. Toronto almost clinched victory in the ninth inning but fell short due to a close call at home plate and an outstanding defensive play by the Dodgers’ Andy Pages.

In the eleventh inning, the Dodgers took the lead for the first time with a solo home run by Will Smith. Although the Jays had a chance to win, they couldn’t capitalize, resulting in a heartbreaking loss in one of baseball’s most dramatic Game 7s.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the World Series MVP, played a pivotal role in securing the Dodgers’ victory. Despite the defeat, the Blue Jays’ remarkable journey from last place in the American League East to a World Series contender showcased their resilience and talent. With standout performances from players like Guerrero, Bichette, and emerging stars, the team gained new fan favorites and left a lasting impression on baseball fans.
