A man allegedly wielding a “crossbow” has reportedly shot at least two people in a horror scene Leeds. Police rushed to the Otley Road and declared a major incident after terrifying reports of a man seen with a weapon in the area were made.
An eyewitness reported a man was allegedly seen holding a crossbow before a swarm of police and ambulances rushed to the area. A local restaurant worker claimed a group of customers rushed inside after spotting the weapon, according to LeedsLive.
West Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called to Otley Road, Leeds at 2,47pm today to reports of an ongoing serious incident involving a man seen with weapons. Officers attended and located three people who had suffered injuries which are at this time not being treated as life threatening.
“A male suspect was located and detained. Enquiries are in their initial stages to determine the wider circumstances of what has taken place and further updates will follow. A number of police scenes remain in place and ensuring public safety remains our priority.”
