Olly Murs has been left devastated as he gave a sad update about his cancelled tour dates. The star took to his social media to tell his fans that his Hull and Brighton gigs will not be going ahead anymore.
The 40-year-old spoke on his Instagram stories where he explained why he won’t be able to perform. Olly said that he had come down with a nasty stomach bug which has also “ripped through” his band crew.
He went on to apologise for letting his fans down and promised that he would be able to reschedule the gigs for future dates. The singer wrote: “I hate that I have to write this & really so sorry to let you guys down, but unfortunately, we are having to reschedule our next two shows in Brighton & Hull.
“The gastroenteritis bug I had last night is currently ripping through our band and crew, which makes it impossible to put on a show for you. We’ll be taking a break for 48 hours to ensure everyone can be fit and healthy for the remainder of the tour. Thank you for understanding and we’re working hard to bring you news of our rescheduled dates as soon as we can. Love Olly x.”
Fans have since rushed to the comment section of Olly’s post following the news. “Gutted,” said one, adding: “Wishing you all a speedy recovery.” A second went on to add: “Shows you’re a great showman that you were poorly and still put on an amazing show. Hope you’re feeling better now.”
This comes not long after it was announced that Olly’s wife Amelia is pregnant with their second child. The pair are already parents to their 11-month-old daughter Madison who they had in April 2024.
Olly and Amelia shared the news on Instagram where they posted a black and white video of the family of three walking through the park. Madison sat on Olly’s shoulders as she wore a denim jacket which said “BIG SIS” and Amelia held photos of the baby scan.
The caption read: “We’re so egg-cited to share this..… Another Baby Murs on the way.” Olly and Amelia tied the knot back in 2023 as they had a festival themed day before their first daughter was born the following year.
While appearing on his Heart radio show alongside Mark Wright, Olly discussed the exciting news. He explained: “Mate, it’s been… you know when you have those weeks where you can’t tell anyone? It’s been really exciting news for us both. A shock, we didn’t expect it to happen this quick, but just yeah, amazing. We just want to grow our little family.”
Meanwhile, Mark replied: “You should be so proud of yourselves. You’re the best mum and dad ever to Maddie, and the fact you’re doing it again, giving her a little sibling, is just sensational. I love you mate, and I love the whole family, and I’m just buzzing for you.”
