Arcade Fire’s frontpersons have declared the end of their marriage while affirming their dedication to the band. Canadian indie rock duo Win Butler and Régine Chassagne shared on social media that they are parting ways but emphasized that their artistic partnership will persist alongside Arcade Fire. The couple first met at McGill University during the band’s inception and tied the knot in 2003.
Arcade Fire rose to fame with their album “The Suburbs,” which clinched the prestigious Album of the Year award at the Grammy Awards in 2011. Several years ago, allegations surfaced in a story by Pitchfork, accusing Butler of inappropriate sexual behavior involving unwanted advances, which he refuted by stating that any extramarital relationships were consensual.
The band recently unveiled their seventh studio album, “Pink Elephant,” and commenced a tour earlier this year. In their latest announcement, the band expressed that despite the separation, Butler and Chassagne continue to hold mutual love, admiration, and support for each other as they co-parent their 12-year-old son.
